Your purchase from the youth livestock sale is eligible for a tax-deduction/charitable gift and helps support youth with their project and encourages them to stay involved in agriculture. Therefore, consult your tax advisor on what deductible amount will be.
All animals will be sold by the head.

The following is estimated averages that a Swine and Steer Exhibitor would need to break-even on their project:
Swine - $3.80 per pound or $950 per head
Steer - $2.50 per pound or $3,125 per head
Again, this is an estimated break-even price and does not account for the youth’s labor in the project,so by paying above these prices, you are helping these exhibitors make a profit on their projects.
